8.15 am: Meeting point at London Biggin Hill Airport for pre-flight teas, coffee or champagne
8:45 am: Depart London with breakfast juices, wine and croissants served on board
11:00am (LT) : Land Bordeaux and start your day by smelling the flavors of the fresh bread just coming out of the oven and share this moment with the passionate baker.
Your next stop will be the shop of the most famous chocolate maker in Bordeaux, where the secrets of their recipes are being kept for several generations. Thierry, the owner of this mythical place will make you taste different chocolates with amazing tastes: ginger, green tea, or olive.
Before lunch enjoy a “Tour de France of Cheese” in a cheese shop in Bordeaux, and learn the know-how and the characters of famous cheeses, such as Comté, Roquefort, Brie.
You will finish your gourmet tour with a lunch in a nice building from the 18th century, enjoy a buffet in the dining room, and eat the products you bought in the morning, as well as some cannelés: typical little cakes from Bordeaux. Lunch is served with wine from Bordeaux area.
1.45 pm: Leave Bordeaux and drive through the “Chateau Route” of the Medoc. The guide will provide you with all the information about the Bordeaux and Medoc wine regions.
2.45 pm: Arriving in a charming and authentic family-run estate (Chateau Paloumey, Chateau Chasse-Spleen, Chateau Siran). Feel the intimacy and authenticity of a private chateau run by a passionate family for generations. Start the visit in the vineyards, in front of the château and discover the cellar.
Enjoy a 20 minute tasting class and become a wine expert. Intense color, woody aromas, tannic taste… What does it mean? You will learn the steps of a proper tasting and educate your nose in order to identify the wine’s aromas. You will be given tips and learn tricks to taste like a pro! At the end of the visit, you will enjoy a tasting of the chateau’s wines.
4.30 pm: Visit a Great Classified Growth estate. Visit the vineyards, the vat room and the cellars of the one of the most prestigious chateaux of Bordeaux. Enjoy some explanations about their winemaking process, from the vine to the bottle. Finish the visit with a tasting of the estate’s wines while enjoying an aperitif with French delicacies (cheese, fresh bread).
6.45 pm: Back in Bordeaux. It’s time for a “before flight drink” – a glass of the Bordeaux wine.
